Next Gen, Same Spirit
A thought on changing roles with attitude.
At Spirit for Brands, we believe that brands should be allowed to develop - just like the people who manage them. That's why this is a special moment for us: Walter Brecht is retiring from active management. After many years as co-founder, Managing Partner, critical spirit and clever mind, Walter is handing over operational responsibility. But he remains: as Senior Advisor, as sparring partner, as part of our team.
What does that mean for us? A big step. And a good one.
Because brand management is not a one-person game. It is a collective effort - over years, often decades. People shape brands. And vice versa. And at some point, the moment comes when responsibility is passed on. Not because someone has to go. But because someone leaves so that others can move on.
Walter never managed the brand, but always lived it: clear in his attitude, courageous in his thinking, cooperative in his actions. This attitude still shapes our culture today - and inspires the next generation to go their own way without forgetting their roots: Next Gen. Same Spirit.
This is more than just a claim. It is our promise - to our customers and to ourselves.
Over the next few weeks, we will continue to share personal insights into this change on LinkedIn.
Because we believe that talking openly about change makes it easier for others.
Thank you, Walter - for your trust, for leading the way and for going with us.
We go further.
With spirit. For brands.
